You can then use any iso mouting software to mount your iso and copy the files to your bootable USB. Going with the gig; Setup 2 partitions, one about gig then the remainder for the 2nd.

Install all of your bootable systems to the first partition and leave the second one for common data. If you have Clonezilla as one of your bootable systems it cannot see the booted partition for images, those must go on the second partition which is why I started doing this. It just makes it easier to manipulate the first partition without worrying about the usable data on the second.
